HammerFall is power metal. Period.

Well, it does say on their web site that they are "heavy metal" so it could stay here. I think they are more power than anything else, but fuck it.... genres piss me off anyway.

Tags can be good for potential fans, but I think there are to many subtags. Like with the band Cradle Of Filth. Many people don't or never considered them being black metal, so they call them extreme gothic metal, but 80% of their music is not gothic metal at all.

I honestly don't see how they're Power Metal, they're Heavy/Speed Metal (Or something like that), but NOT Power Metal. Anyway, These guys kick ass. I only have "Something Wicked This Way Comes", but I'm really likin' it, with "Stand Alone" being my favorite track

Iced Earth are pretty good but most of their stuff is so similar to the last album. Night of the Stormrider and Iced Earth are my favourites.

I like all the albums they did with Matt Barlow..Something Wicked This Way Comes and Alive In Athens are my favourite albums..i didn't like the newest one, The Crucible of Man, thouhg..i find it kinda boring...no song managed to really get into my head like some of the older songs like I Died for You, Melancholy or Blessed Are You did.

I don't like Iced Earth.
I see them live, and, for me, they sucks. Concert was so bad. Barlow not achieved any contacts with public.
Ripper is for me God against Barlow.
Check out Ripper's new project it's calling Beyond Fear and have one album.

In my opinion Iced Earth is totally shit at the moment. Til the live CD Alive in Athens they make really good music and the albums were great. Horror Show was good also but never reach the wicked comes album. But than.... Glorious Burden ok, framing armageddon and the actually (I can't even remember the name of that) album for me the worst outputs from Schaffer.

I hope that this band make a great comeback but at the moment I can't hear the new stuff.

Iced Earth has a special place in my collection. I started out with Horror Show, and then quickly bought Night of the Stormrider and Something Wicked This Way Comes. I've since picked up Glorious Burden, Framing Armageddon and Crucible of Man.

I wouldn't say I've listened to their newer stuff enough to have formed a solid opinion, but I do like their older stuff a lot. I really need to pick up Burnt Offerings and Dark Saga. Very Happy

What?? I don't even think it was Barlow singing on the first album!

You NEED to hear "Alive in Athens", their live album. I'm usually not into live albums, but that one fucking rules! The songs sound better than the studio versions!

Yeah, I think it's awesome. Great music, great lyrics. Powerful message.

Here's the first part of an interview with Schaffer conducted by Alex Jones, who I've been a fan of for a long time...

Well it is just my humble opinion..i think they get to much hype, the first two ones are quite good, with a annoying singer. Rest of the albums just seems average to me. There is better bands out there in this category with no way near the same recognition. Smile

But every one got their ones opinions.
