| Who cares what genre they belong in? I think the fact that nobody can say "They're technical death metal, end of." or "They're thrash metal, end of." is a real testament to how original their sound is. Personally, I think they're great. And I enjoy both albums, a lot. Sure Traced in Air was different to Focus, but who can seriously say they wanted 'another Focus' - Not me. Paul Masvidal is a superb guitarist as well. I'll always have a soft spot for him due to him featuring on Death's Human - which I absolutely love | |

| I wish Cynic would re-record their older demos (which sadly have crap sound) or create new songs in the same style.
I am sucker for experimental music and enjoyed both Focus & Traced in Air. But by now I have listened both so often that I'm at a point where I rather get annoyed by the vocals and that saddens me. | |

| I think they should just keep doing what they do, asking experemental focused bands to go back to their old sound doesnt normally end well. | |
