Farsot

Farsot are a German black metal band, formed in 1999. In 2007, they released their debut album, called IIII. The album title makes you think it`s their fourth album, but nah, it`s their first. The band members use weird pseudonyms such as 3818.w and 10.XIXt.

IIII is very diverse and interesting, the songs are fast with typical BM elements, but also have long instrumental and atmospheric parts. Farsot use different vocal styles, from rasps and screams to growls and even a few female vocals.

The weirdness is what makes it so cool. It requires a very involved listen, though.

Farsot are still an insiders' tip among lovers of progressive black metal that would deserve much more recognition than they get.
