My Silent Wake is an Gothic doom/death metal band from Great Brittain, Their influences are wide ranging but predominantly include early
Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Trouble, Celtic Frost and Black Sabbath.

Disc 2 on The autumn of melancholy is an acoustic record, real interesting and great atmosophere.

Only have Shadow of Sorrow but I'll see if I can find the two newest albums.

Although I am not a huge gothic metal fan A Garland Of Tears is a very good album. I'll post it soon.

I don't rely listen to pure gothic, I guess Tiamat is the closest but gothic/doom can be nice.

I think the same here, pure gothic metal is usually boring imo.

But hey, back on topic

My Silent Wake is nowhere near pure gothic so. Good music is it and that's all i need.

They have a new album out titled "IV Et Lux Perpetua"

This band sounds like something right up my alley. I will check 'em out.

I love these guys! Very cool people. Seen them live several times. Wouldn't call them any more "gothic" than My Dying Bride... Melancholic music with a distinct British edge. They are definitely one of those bands that deserve more attention than they get.

Haven't heard the new album yet, but going to buy it as soon as I can get my hands on it.

Nihil: Start with one of the older albums. The new one was a bit dissapointing for me.
