Mortician

Not be confused with Mortician from Austria or Mortician. This band has been around the death metal block for 20 years. They formed in Yonkers, NY. They are a staple to the NYDM scene. Will Rahmer also started a heavy metal club NYDM (New York Death Militia) that has now spread across the country and throughout the world.

They have released quite a few albums. Rahmer is known for having deep deep vocals. They have really long intros, usually samples from horror movies. You may or may not like 'em. This sometimes bothers people, because they want to listen to the music and don't give two shits about the samples. This band had a drummer, though he sadly died young. They have not permanently replaced with someone else, so they use a drum machine. He was pretty much a one of a kind drummer. They do have a drummer present at a drum kit when they perform live.

Basically I say check out all of their early works. The first demo, Brutally Mutilated EP and Mortal Massacre. Then Hacked Up for Barbeque and Chainsaw Dismemberment are pretty damn good albums. They may be hard to get into, because of the drum machine. Though however, you'll get used to it.

I've never liked this band, mostly because of the drum machine. So you are saying the demo has a real drummer, and does one of the albums have that too?

Only the demo, the EP and another EP Mortal Massacre have a real drummer. Plus there's a compilation called Mortal Massacre, though I think that compilation has the demo and the EPs + some live tracks.

Ah yes, Mortician. Another fine example of the aweesomeness that is NYDM. I could be wrong, but didn't this band help for Death/Grind?
