Angelcorpse are a death metal band with some heavy black metal influence who hail from the United States. Formed in 1995 the orginal lineup is Pete Helmkamp (Bass/Vocals), Gene Palubicki (Guitar), Bill Taylor (Guitar) and John Longstreth (Drums). This lineup recorded the bands first two albums
Hammer of Gods and
Exterminate. After the release of the bands second album John Longstreth quit the band and was replaced by Tony Laureano, the following year they released
The Inexorable. Soon after this the band split up two cd's were released,
Iron, Blood and Blasphemy was a compilation of demos and rare tracks and
Death Dragons of the Apocalypse was an independently released live album. In 2006 the orginal lineup reformed (minus Bill Taylor) and the following year
Of Lucifer and Lightning was released. In April of this year the band called it quits once again.
I can't recommend this band highly enough to those who crave evil and blasphemous metal that continuously hits you with a sledgehammer.
The Inexorable would be the best place to start as I believe that's where they hit their peak but really you can't go wrong with any of their first three albums.
