| There is a topic on Black Sabbath already. But no Dio? Here it is. Dio is fronted by Ronnie James Dio. I have Holy Diver which is a super essential heavy metal record. If you don't have it... why are you even into metal in the first place? Discography (studio): Holy Diver (1983) The Last in Line (1984) Sacred Heart (1985) Dream Evil (1987) Lock up the Wolves (1990) Strange Highways (1993) Angry Machines (1996) Magica (2000) Killing the Dragon (2002) Master of the Moon (2004) |

| Dio solo is awesome, Elf is great, Rainbow with him was the best, Black Sabbath(Heaven And Hell now) is very good. Good job Dio. |

Yes, it may be a essential record to have if you like metal...but I can think about 50 others too... I actually didn't have Holy Diver until the remastered version of the album was released a couple of years ago... For the record, I started listening to metal two years prior to Holy Diver was released. DP's Burn and Sabbath's Master Of Reality did the trick for me as a door opener to the metal world...

| I started to listen to his music, when I heard "Mob Rules", by Black Sabbath and of course I started get know other bands he was involved in. Didn't get into Elf, but Rainbow was masterpiece, so as Black Sabbath with Ronnie. Dio is blends magical atmosphere of Rainbow with the power of BS. It's just great, but I really can't understand phenomenon of Holy Diver. I listened it many times and I still think that it's only good. - Spectre wrote:

Try "Dream Evil". It's my favourite, but almost everything is great. The only albums that are rather weak are "Lock Up The Wolves", "Strange Highways" and "Angry Machines". |

Lock Up the Wolf was OK, Strange Highway was better but Angry machine was an utterly failure. I will recommend The Last In Line, Magica and my favorite Dream Evil

That was the first Dio album I bought...it have some kick ass songs like the title track, the underrated rocker Just Another Day, Like A Beat Of the Heart and Shoot Shoot. I don't like the commercial approach on some songs like Hungry For Heaven and Rock 'n' Roll Children...and there's one or two fillers here as well...

| While Heaven & Hell have a break in their tour, Dio will do a tour in Europe in November and December. Dio will also release a new single called Electra. The song will be included in the setlist of the tour as well. A new album is in the plan as well for release sometime in 2010...
