The novel was EPIC and the miniseries was not bad either. Now a movie. Anyone see The Stand or read it?

Saw the miniseries (ok) and started (but never finished) the book. What I don't get is why they don't have Frank Darabont do the movie. He's done Shawshank Redemption (awes0me), Green Mile (even more awesome), and The Mist (not awesome), so you know he can work a Stephen King story.

The book is good man, you should try reading the whole thing and I agree with you on Darabont. It's gonna be tough making this story a movie. Gonna have to be long, real long.
