Bathory are a Sweden black metal band. My favorite album by Bathory has gotten to be "Blood Fire Death".

Anyone listen too them? Pretty good Black Metal, I suggest 'Blood Fire Death' if you're trying to get into them.

Bathory is absolutely essential. Under the Sign and The Return...... are my favorites but Hammerheart and Twilight of the Gods are great as well.

Bathory is the embodiment of black metal. Any of the later BM bands cannot beat it, they all have roots there. From the black metal era the best one is "Under the sign..." - that is the basic stone of the genre. But I also love the viking ones "Hammerheart" and especially the majestic "Twilight Of The Gods". And I am really sad to see these newcomer BM fans who say "Bathory doesn´t interest me, I prefer XY..."

Essential early black metal band. I should get into Bathory more. I only have a couple tracks by Bathory. Bathory did a really really odd cover of Motörhead's Ace of Spade. That's one of the tracks I have by Bathory.

"Blood fire death" is the only one i have, but it kicks ass, i should get their other albums...

Love Bathory, only got Blood, Fire, Death and Under The Sign Of The Black Mark though. BFD is just perfect all the way through, not often I can stop myself from skipping introductions and such. Also for some reason I really love the production on that album, it just sounds huge.

Good BM band, but by far the most underrated thrash band in existance. "Octagon" is the definition of "misunderstood classic". I thought people loved slayer demos? And here when Q releases the ultimate album of Slayer demos pumped up far beyond the extreme of intensity anyone ever imagined they all bash it because the mechanical snare makes their ears bleed. Since when are metalheads so used to disco production that a harsh sound blows their minds?? Wait, I know the answer: since July 8th, 1997!

i watched gummo the other day, and the bathory song they had got me instantly hooked. im listening to under the sign of the black mark right now and its just amazing. the jury is still out on the viking stuff though...

been listening to Twilight of the Gods and Hammerheart recently; both send goosebumps down my spinewith less effort than breathing. such power!

As awesome as their Black Metal stuff is, "Nordlands I" is simply amazing

I much prefer their "viking" stuff, not that their BM material is lacking, but to me they've really hit the peak of their creativity on the viking albums

Been a long time since I listened to Bathory last time. Twilight of the Gods and Blood On Ice is the two albums I have listened to most.

First three albums are mandatory listening. Blood Fire Death is awesome but for entirely different reasons. S/T is fucking dirty goodness and Reaper is a fun song to play even though it's easy as fuck.
