YOB

Well, the newest member made me realize we didn't have this thread, haha.

Yob are an American Stoner/Doom band. They formed in 96' and are still active today. The band actually split up in 2006, but reformed in 2008. They've got four Full Lenghts and they're all SICCCCCCCCK. I suggest all of them. This band are really heavy and majorly badass.

As you can see by my name I'm a huge fan of this band. Get any and all of their releases, all are phenomenal. And yes they are slated to release an album this year, they've reformed and have been picked up by Profound Lore Records. I can't fucking wait! YOB

Should be an intresting album. I'll be looking for it when it comes out. Hopefully (I'm sure it will) be like the other albums.

YOB rules me face off. Can't wait for their new album. I wonder if they're staying in the more straight-up doom direction or if they've evolved again.

Tracking And Mixing Is Done

The new album has been tracked and mixed. It will be mastered at the end of the month by Billy Barnett at Gung-Ho Studio in Eugene, Oregon. Sanford Parker did such a fantastic job and was so easy to work with. Truly professional and amazing at every turn. We are confident our friends worldwide are going to dig our new vibes channeled through Sanford's engineering wizardry.

The album will be titled The Great Cessation with 5 songs clocking in @ 62 minutes. The titles:

Burning The Altar
The Lie That Is Sin
Silence Of Heaven
Breathing From The Shallows
The Great Cessation

Aaron Edge from Odeum.org/Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth will be doing the art and layouts, for which we are very grateful.

The tentative release date is late July.

Just picked up The Unreal Never Lived. I really like it. The vocals are awesome.

The song? KICK ASS. YOB is sexy as ever. They're still playing doom, but I'm feeling some of their stoner sound coming across. Loving every minute of it.

The album's been leaked and it's pretty awesome throughout. Definitely a hot contender for my "best of '09". I've only got around to listening once, though, so far.

YOB, a true classic.

Took me a while to get into these guys but The Unreal Never Lived has become one of my favourite albums. It's just perfect. Not so big a fan of the other stuff, but their first album is growing on me. Watched some videos on YouTube, they're pretty heavy for a three-piece! :o
