| Gojira is a progressive death/thrash metal band from Bayonne, France. Their lyrics consist of life, ecology, and spiritual themes. They were formed in 1996 by brothers Joe Duplantier (vocals and lead guitar) and Mario Duplantier (drums), Christian Andreu (guitar) and Jean-Michel Labadie (bass guitar). They had initially named their group Godzilla, but due to legal constraints had to change their name. They therefore chose to re-name their band Gojira - the original Japanese version of their name. Some of the content of their music is focused on the ecological effects of human activity on the Earth. i saw these again on Wednesday. amazing live band, one of the best ive seen. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=&search_query=gojira&aq=0 |

| Good band, but one of my top 10 favorites. Gotta give 'em credit for being atmospheric and technical, though. | |

| Just started to listen to these guys, at first I didn't really like them, but they're starting to grow on me, especially the album From Mars to Sirius. I really like their drummer. |

| Awesome band, love 'em. Never got into the old stuff as much but their two last albums are mindblowing.
Mario Duplantier is one of my favourite drummers, the stuff he does on 'The Art Of Dying' is up there with Tomas Haake. |

| Gojira are probably my favourite heavier progressive metal band. By far the best live performance for me ever and their sound is matchless. Brutally heavy and yet absolutely touching....
And of course, Mario Duplantier is one of the most amazing drummers EVER.

| Gojirrar is an awesome band. I have their album The Way of All Flesh, and I would easily recommend it. They must be pretty intelligent as well. | |

Hahaha, I don't know what I was thinking when I spelled their name as "Gojirrar". That's crazy. I don't usually do stuff like that.

| Their From Mars to Sirrius album kicks ass, I'd say it's my favourite out of all their works. Very progressive stuff, beautifully written, tight, rhythmic and very organic. |
