| Ronnie was writing and recording new songs for a "Magica Part 2" album before and after he got cancer. Anyone who knows if he ever was able to finish off this album? | |

Source. Actually Manowar is doing one song on a tribute album to Ronnie James Dio called Magic. However, it's the Manowar director Neil Johnson who's behind it...and I would recommend everybody to avoid it like the plague. First of all the release contains previously released material, scrapped together in a hurry. The second is that none of the profit the album may make will NOT go to the Ronnie James Dio cancer fond. It's released on the Magic Circle Music label, which I believe is based on the ashes of now defunkt and bankrupt SPV label. Needles to say...they're in for a quick buck. That such a fucking sad thing to do...

| Ever since my tape with Dio's performance at Monsters Of Rock at Donington in 1987 was destroyed, I have been searching for it everywhere with no luck. Now it will be officially released on the album Dio at Donington UK: Live 1983 & 1987 in November. Damn, that performance by Dio is so awesome and the crowd is wild.... | |

Would be awesome if somewhere down the line Wendy Dio released the material on an album...

| Damn. I LOVE Dio. Listening to Holy Diver now. I watched a Black Sabbath Biography on A&E the other night and got really sad again. This dude was and always will be a MONSTER at his art. | |

| Dio At Donington UK: Live 1983 & 1987 is so fucking good. Especially the 1987 performance is really awsome. Vivian Campbell was a great guitar player in Dio but haven't done shit after that. No one missed Vivian anyway when Craig Goldy joined in 1986. Craig and RJD were on fire this special evening in 1987... | |

someone saw him live ? Yeah, it would be great. :( I haven't seen him live. Some time before he passed away, I remember I was in school and somebody mentioned Ronnie. My friend said she would really like to see him live. She's not into metal a lot thought. It would be just out of respect. I am happy to know that many people appreciate him. When I told my other friend he passed away, he couldn't believe. The same day, we went into our classroom and we saw somebody's notebook and there was a writing on it saying "D I O", with big, red letters. This really happened, I swear to God.

| I saw Dio live on the Magica tour in 2001. Dio and Alice Cooper did a double headline tour in Europe with Ratt as support and I attended the gig in Oslo. Great show, great memories! | |

| From Blabberpussy:"DIO DISCIPLES, the new project featuring former DIO members Simon Wright (drums), Craig Goldy (guitar) and Scott Warren (keyboards) alongside bassist James Lomenzo (MEGADETH, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, WHITE LION) and singers Tim "Ripper" Owens (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, BEYOND FEAR, JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH) and Toby Jepson (LITTLE ANGELS, GUN), will embark on a full U.S. tour in September. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon. DIO DISCIPLES' European tour will kick off in early June. Commented Ronnie James Dio's widow and manager Wendy: "There will never be another Ronnie, but we want to keep his music alive and hope you will support the band and become one of the DIO DISCIPLES." | |

| The Hear 'n Aid album will be released for the first time on CD (except for a rare Japan release some time ago), along with a DVD with footage from the session.
That's great news, as I never got it back when it was originally released...
