Aussie War Metal!

Ok so, I decided we need a thread on Australian "War" metal, which is basically a mix of thrash, death and black metal with a certain Aussie charm to it that you just don't get from anywhere else because we rule.

I'll start this thread off with a list of good bands and albums to check out:

Sadistik Execution - We are death...Fukk You!
Destroyer 666 - Cold Steel...For an Iron Age
Corpse Molestation - Descension of a Darker Deity (demo)
Grenade - The Howling Damned EP
Abominator - The Eternal Conflagration
Bestial Warlust - Vengeance War til Death
Hobbs' Angel of Death - Hobbs' Satans Crusade

All killer albums by killer bands. If I missed any particular ones, feel free to mention them.

I know Bestial Warlust, Sadistik Exekution, Hobbs' Angel Of Death and Destroyer 666...all of them are good!

I don't believe I have heard any of these bands. Throw an album or two up in the download section.

I don't think I've listened to any of those bands at all. Although at some point in my life there is a chance I have, but I don't think I have. I'll hit them up later, or some of them. Sounds pretty cool.

Grenade is great, "Hobbs' Angel of Death" sounds interesting too.
I preffer New Zealand War Metal though.

You all need to check out these bands (ones I've recently checked out):

Razor of Occam
Nocturnal Graves
Armoured Angel
Vomitor
Kill for Satan
Gospel of the Horns (ESPECIALLY these guys!)

Most of these bands fall into blackthrash or deathrash, definatly worth your time and effort.

speaking of aussie metal. the Ne Obliviscaris EP is good stuff

only band i know from those lists is Destroyer 666 and they are quite uber... so ill give these bands a listen

Also going to chuck in Urgrund. Great black/thrash from Sydney.

Sadistik Exekution and Destroyer 666 are kickass Aussie bands. I'll be sure to check the rest of that list out when I can.

I should point out most of these bands don't fall under the "war metal" thing, most of them fall under blackthrash or deaththrash. This thread is mostly just to share awesome Aus metal. Get listening!

Australia has really been a breeding ground for great black/thrash bands! But how come nobody has mentionned Mortal Sin??? I believe they are the first australian thrash band.

Much better then Hobbes Angel of Death : I mean... Hobbes are just Slayer clones after all.

True but if you want to get picky Mortal Sin was just a Metallica clone, didn't make them any less great.

Because Mortal Sin already have a thread. Good band though, I've seen them live twice now.

Bumping this because it doesn't deserve to fade into obscurity.

Recently heard Ignivomous and their latest lp "Death Transmutation".

Holy fuckballs is it vicious, I predict this band being the next big thing out of Australia. I apparently saw them open for Misery/Mournful Congregation in March but I was way to drunk to remember much of that night.

I actually didn't like Ignivomous much, they sounded like generic DM to me, not to say it was "bad", just didn't interest me much.

Check out Daemon Foetal Harvest, local band for me. Very good Death Metal, it's a mix of the old and the new. I saw them open for Morbid Angel, they kick arse!

Also, Abramelin deserve a mention, any DM fans MUST check them out!
