Gotta pay my respects here. Keep the faith!

Here's my collection (if I can remember it all )
Hero, Hero - Why is this not listed on the discographies - classic priest...
Sad Wings of Destiny - One of my favorites, to this day
Sin After Sin
Hell Bent For Leather
Point of Entry - Also another good classic album (desert plains, anyone?)
Screaming For Vengeance
Defenders of Faith
Ram It Down
Painkiller - Different sound IMO, very good
Jugulator - Different yet, not sure about it, though
Demolition - See my opinion of jugulator
Metalogy - Amazing 4 disk box set...spiked pleather box and huge book to come with it.
Living after midnight - Good live album
The Essential Judas Priest - Solid 2 disk compilation of the essentials

I need to pick up some more to round off the collection, couple here and there. I'm kinda disappointed with all the discographies online...I know I have way more priest than they list. I saw them in concert last summer...simply amazing. No opinions yet on Nostradamus (only heard it in concert). Different, to say the least.

I will own them all before I'm done!

Oh yeah, not only do I have their essential compilation. I also have Painkiller (original, not remastered) and Unleashed in the East. Two fantastic albums. Unleashed in the East is by far one of the best live albums you'll ever listen to. If you don't have it, go out and get it!

Compilations are seldom listed in the official discographies. Hero, Hero is a compilation including all the songs from Rocka Rolla and six from Sad Wings Of Destiny.
The tracks from Rocka Rolla is remixed, but the tracks from SWOD isn't. For some reason the first verse is swapped with the second in the remixed version of the song Rocka Rolla. The version of Diamonds and Rust is a alternate version compared to the one originally found on Sin After Sin.
The Living After Midnight album is a compilation of studio tracks and a few live tracks.

You better get Stained Class and British Steel. those two albums are just as essential as Screaming For Vengeance and Painkiller...

Yeah, I definitely need those albums (I've gotten by thus far with only having the larger compilations) and I'll pick up Nostradamus eventually.

I just found it odd that they showed the larger compilations, but no Hero, Hero. Oh well.

Anybody put all the remasters together to get the image on the spines? Smile

I'm a HUGE Priest fan and i gotta say you are right, Run Of The Mill is a great great song. And what about one of the most evil riffs ever in Dying To Meet You. One of the best bands ever for damn sure.

...but it's quite likely I will be listening to it within some days now. You guys have a bad influence on me... lol!

Judas Priest will release their new live album "A Touch Of Evil: Live" in July.

"A Touch Of Evil: Live" track listing:

01. Judas Rising
02. Hellrider
03. Between The Hammer & The Anvil
04. Riding On The Wind
05. Death
06. Beyond The Realms Of Death
07. Dissident Aggressor
08. A Touch Of Evil
09. Eat Me Alive
10. Prophecy
11. Painkiller

I think this track list is really great, spanning a lot of "overlooked" classics by the band, like Between The Hammer And The Anvil, Dissident Aggressor and Eat Me Alive.
To be quite honest, who really wants the X'th live album with a another version of You've Got Another Thing Comin' or Breaking the Law? Not me, for sure....

Proud owner of the PRIEST collection on CD and building it on vinyl as well! (plus all the singles from the 80s, only way to go!)

JUDAS PRIEST is, was, and will always be THE band for me. This is arguable, but without them, I don't think we would have had Iron Maiden and the likes... In fact, if it weren't for Priest, we wouldn't have had the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, which means nothing else... or not.

Their best album for me would be Sad Wings of Destiny. Nothing tops that. Released in 1976 and it still is the best heavy metal record I've heard.

On the top 5, in no order would be:

Sad Wings of Destiny
Angel of Retribution
Defenders of the Faith
Stained Class
Hell Bent For Leather

Saw them in March. Yes, Halford is getting older. But they still rock like no one else.

I love the guy, he will ALWAYS be the Metal God. But please don't let him sing "Painkiller" again. He's still got his mid range capacity, why not focus on that? Nostradamus was a good example of how he can still pull it off, even if he's not going to the stratosphere vocals he used to.

Yea he is cool.
I don't mind Painkiller there are some good songs there. Haven't listen that much to Nostradamus but what I have heard is good. Think his voice have survived the test of time very well, still sound good live in my opinion.

Painkiller is their masterpiece but Stained Class is really good as well. I'm in desperate need of a copy of Hell Bent for Leather right now and of course I can't find it now that I want it.

I think Screaming For Vengeance is their Masterpiece. I'd put Painkiller 6th behind Screaming, Sad Wings, Sin After Sin, Stained Class and Defenders. I might even add Rocka Rolla to that list.

Painkiller isn't their masterpiece. Not to me. I'd put it rather on the tail end of the discography.

Oh, one thing: the Ripper albums aren't Priest.

I've always had a hard time with Screaming; It's got my favorite Priest song with the Hellion/Electric Eye but as a whole, I had a hard time really getting into it.

Painkiller has always meant something to me. Every track just gets better and better and it really just builds. It's the most complete album they ever did in my eyes and that guitar tone is complete worship.

Same here, ever since I first heard British Steel back in 1980. One of my all-time favs. Halford isn't the Metal God for nothing!
