Disc one is ok, disc 2 gets a little boring.

The thing with Nostradamus is you can't expect the obvious, which would have been a solid heavy metal album like Angel of Retribution. That's one thing Priest still does: in each record, they go for something new, and Nostradamus isn't inventing the wheel, but for the PRIEST sound, it was a fine addition.

Plus, I reckon you have to be in a certain mindset to listen to it and enjoy the listen thoroughy.

this topic and my recent Judas Priest listening has inspired me to go out and complete my collection; I need to get Killing Machine/Hellbent, Defenders, and Sin After Sin.

Priest never came easy for me I guess; I was always more of a Maiden fan but eventually got into Priest after I realized what I was missing but even after that it really didn't sink in until very recently.

Rocka Rolla is a brilliant album. Severely underrated and overshadowed by many of their later releases.

Judas Priest were absolutely amazing last night. I saw them last year and Rob was a little off. Last night he sound like he was 25 years old again. I was in awe of his performance. It was fucking incredible. I have seen Priest 7 times now and this has to rate near the top as far as shows.

I'll tell you what, he didn't sound old Sunday night. He definitely looks old. But holy shit his voice was amazing.

I recently obtained a copy of Defenders Of the Faith; the first four tracks are absolutely amazing then the album just falls apart completely.

Imho all Priest stuff (beside Painkiller and Turbo of course) is remarkable the 70s as straight 70s Rock proto metal albums, the late 70s for their proto 80s metal and their 80s stuff for the sheer technical brilliance, the riffing and the intense solos. At the moment my favorite among the 70s albums is Rocka Rolla, my favorite 80s Priest album is Screaming for Vengeance.
