| Nile are a Brutal/Tech. Death Metal band from the USA. Their first Demo, EP and Full length - Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka are very good. They start going a bit downhill after that though. I will post some of their earlier stuff on the blog shortly. http://www.myspace.com/16993157 | |

| Yeah, it was ok, don't know if I'd say brilliant though....But a few of their albums before that were plain horrible. Their first was brilliant...Maybe... | |

| Nile are a unique death metal band. They are one of those death metal bands that think outside the box. I have all of their full-length albums. I really enjoy 'em all. The first album I ever listened to was the first one. Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka is a great death metal album. Their best in my opinion is In Their Darkened Shrines. That is one killer album! Every death metal fan should own that masterpiece. |

| Nile haven't gone downhill since their demo, they've improved consistently. Although, Annihilation of the Wicked was their best so far - Ithyphallic didn't quite top it but was still fucking solid. Can't wait for their new album due out this summer. |

| One of the first death metal albums I ever owned was In Their Darkened Shrines and it absolutely blew me away. 'Member being 10 and sat secretly listening to my mp3 player in an RE lesson, I had Nile on and it was a little loud so the person next to me could just hear the snare and bass drum. They thought I'd recorded the sounds of bees and was listening to it. Tis a little joke in my family that whenever some mentions Nile somebody says 'NILE. IT SOUNDS LIKE BEEEEEES!'.
Shame I never got round to the rest of their stuff. |

| the first Nile album I heard was Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka..it was also the first brutal death metal I encountered..and I must say I loved it and I still do... the egyptian theme they use is awesome, different from most of the other brutal dm bands..and the songs never get annoying or repetitive..I also don't think they're going downhill with their newer releases, I like Ithyphallic the same as I like their older stuff. my fav album is Black Seeds of Vengeance..I wish to see them live, somehow I always miss their shows when they play in Slovenia |

| Festivals of Atonement EP and Annihilation of the Wicked are easily my favorites. Ithyphallic was kind of average, but it gets way too much unneeded hate imo, it's not as bad as people claim it is. | |

| The reigning kings of technical, historically-themed brutality NILE have revealed the track listing and artwork for their latest state-of-the-death-metal-art release, "Those Whom the Gods Detest". Produced and mixed by Neil Kernon (NEVERMORE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, QUEENSRŸCHE), along with a stellar drum-production job by Erik Rutan (CANNIBAL CORPSE, VITAL REMAINS, GOATWHORE), "Those Whom the Gods Detest" features the band's strongest production and perhaps its best material to date! The cover artwork was created by Michal "Xaay" Loranc, whom NILE guitarist/vocalist Karl Sanders had previously worked with on his second solo album, "Saurian Exorcisms".
"Those Whom the Gods Detest" track listing:
01. Kafir! 02. Hittite Dung Incantation 03. Utterances of the Crawling Dead 04. Those Whom the Gods Detest 05. 4th Arra of Dagon 06. Permitting the Noble Dead to Descend to the Underworld 07. Yezd Desert Ghul Ritual in the Abandoned Towers of Silence 08. Kem Khefa Kheshef 09. The Eye of Ra 10. Iskander D'hul Karnon
Sanders told Revolver magazine earlier in the year that the band's sixth full-length album will likely be NILE's most eclectic offering to date. "We're going to some very unexpected places," he said. "I've been listening to some oud music [the oud is a Middle Eastern lute — Ed.], Iranian music, and some Hindu stuff, and that stuff's definitely rubbing off on the new songs."
"Those Whom the Gods Detest" is scheduled for a November 3 North American release via Relapse Records.
NILE's fifth studio album, "Ithyphallic", came out on July 17, 2007 via Nuclear Blast. Engineered by Bob Moore and produced by Neil Kernon, the CD was recorded at Sound Lab Studios in Columbia, South Carolina.
