Atheist

One of the pioneers of early death metal right here, but I also love them for their incorporation of jazz into their music. They've only released 3 albums, but word is that a new one is due out this year. Post your thoughts and what not.

Yea, you can definitely hear their jazz influence in that album.

This is probably my favorite Tech. Death Band's. I love the jazzy sound they've got aswell. They've produced three VERY solid albums, man. They're so technical and impressing. I'm really ready for the new album just to see how they sound now. Honestly, not sure what to expect.

I heard they are releasing a live album this year, and possibly a new studio album... sweeeeeet.

Yup, they've got new stuff coming out this year. Probably want be anything like the older stuff, but nonetheless, should be intresting.

Piece of Time is a great album, I should get the others too!

Knowing Athest, it should be interesting.

I have all of Atheist. Atheist are an amazing technical death metal band. They are one of the first technical death bands (if not the first). They have stuff that totally rules!

They rule, though I prefer Cynic.

Unquestionable Presence fucking slays.

Why "(USA)" after Atheist. There is one Atheist only.

Anyhow I love Atheist. Very evident in my charts.

Because when we first started the forum there was a minimum 10 character subject title, we have since changed it. I can remove the USA.

What do you think of Piece of Time?

One of the best from Florida, Atheist rule, may favourite has to be Unquestionable Presence. It will be interesting to see if they bring out a new album soon.

Cynic aren't that great anyway. Elements feels like it is missing something, maybe its to do with the fact that the record company made the band write a new album before they broke up?

Old Cynic was comparable to Atheist. New Cynic is dog shit on the bottom of Atheist's shoe.

To me, Cynic ruled and always ruled. I have their latest album and I'm quite pleased with it.

Now back to the band this topic is about. They should be releasing a new album and I believe it will be cool. I don't think Atheist could go wrong. Their fourth album will quite interesting and I've read stuff about it. Good stuff about it, of course.

Well let's hope they deliver.
