Rockabilly ElvisPresley

Rockabilly is a combination of hillbilly music from waaaay back in the day while your great grandparents were living in and rock 'n' roll of the 1950's. I have a little collection of compilations from Buffalo Bop. I want to get as many as of those as possible. Extreme metal dominates my music library and I want rockabilly to also be up there too. Now when rockabilly is mentioned, usually Elvis comes to mind. He was a big reason why rockabilly spawned many artists. There's so many, it's not even funny. They made up the rock underground back then. Rockabilly was not mainstream or top 40 at all. Rockabilly did have its hits, but there were few and far between.

Rockabilly 73346

Want to get into rockabilly? Then get the Rockin' Bones boxset. I got this for X-mas one year and I listen to this sometimes. It's pretty good music to drive to.

This is quite funny. I love rockabilly as much as death metal. Weird? I dunno, I kinda blame my parents on this one. I remember listening to 1950's Elvis. My mom got me into Elvis when I was around 6-8 years old. Then my cousins found out about it and got me into more modern music. So uhh yeah, I guess that's how I'm a rockabilly fan. I want to toy around with rockabilly and death metal. I want to fuse those two genres together and see what I get. It has been done before, but I want to perfect it. I want to perfect it so much. I tried with my project, Decrepidude. However that didn't cut it.

Here some good tracks to listen to if you have the time:

Rumble by Link Wray
Brand New Cadillac by Vince Taylor
Twenty Flight Rock by Eddie Cochran
Down the Line by Buddy Holly
Savage by Alan Barnicoat

So discuss about rockabilly.

There's a quite popular band from Norway called TeenCats. You should check 'em out. They are from a nearby town from where I live and was quite popular in some Europeans countries like Germany.

Read more about them HERE!
