How what is obviously a in-joke side project becomes a full blown band with big tours is beyond me. If I want to hear Cannibal Corpse, I'll listen to Cannibal Corpse, not some half arsed joke band's take on them. This really is testament to what an awful state metal is in these days. Ten years ago, before irony was the "in thing", this band would be seen as what they are, and be condemned to the lower ranks of mp3.com.

Oh get a sense of humour man, besides Cannabis Corpse just rolls over the majority of Cannibal Corpses boring albums.

I have got a sense of humour. Cannabis Corpse just aren't funny. How the hell can they "roll over" Cannibal Corpse when they're a carbon copy? Of course there are better bands than Cannibal Corpse, but it pisses me off that a band that literally goes out of their way to copy the sound of another band should have achieved what they have, just because they appeal to what is popular at the moment... which is ironic "humour" and image.

Cannabis Corpse appeal to what is popular at the moment? I don't know about that, I get the impression that the most popular thing in metal right now is either 'folk metal' or tech death/deathcore stuff.

Regarding Cannabis being a "carbon copy" of Corpse, I have to say I strongly disagree. If you listen to Cannabis' albums there's elements which would never appear in a Corpse song. Sure, they have a similar tone, their vocalist has a similar voice and they're obviously a parody.. but don't take them as a half arsed joke, because the band don't. They make good death metal, and people like it (including Cannibal Corpse themselves) - That's why they've become a full blown band with big tours

What elements are these? The riffs are the same, the structures the same, the vocalist sounds like Corpsegrinder, the drummer plays exactly like Paul Mazurkiewicz. I don't hear anything that CC didn't do ten times better on Butchered at Birth.

As for "people like them", well people like Aqua - does that make them good too?

I'm not going to sit and listen to all their songs and note down when moments arise where they don't sound like Cannibal Corpse.

lolz... personally i think they've got enough originallity in the songs to differentiate them from cannibal... i personally dont like cannibal... but i like cannabis so there must be something in there thats different... and yes.. ive tried to like cannibal... it just bores me to death dunno why

Just saw the front cover for The Weeding and it made me check them out. They are pretty good actually.

Holy shit, The Weeding is gonna be their 3rd release! It's gonna be released October 12th. It's an EP and the cover artwork is pretty damn funny and well drawn. Good stuff! I like this band almost as much as Cannibal Corpse. Killer shit!

Not that I'm saying these guys suck, but imo they just aren't very interesting

Listening to Tubes Of The Resinated for the first time in quite a while. Pretty good album.

Tube of the Resinated is better than any of the last 4 albums Cannibal Corpse has put out.
