Vogg, take a small fan and let it gently blow over the seedlings. It will keep them from growing thin and tall and falling over.

Started putting some of my veggies out in the garden. We are just about past our last frost date which is April 15th.

We have to wait another three to four weeks for that. I get the potatoes down around 10th of May...and then the rest will follow soon.

How long do the potatoes take until they are ready? I have been thinking of trying to grow them. Never did before. You just cut up some potatoes that have eyes growing out of them already right?

I usually wait until they have legs growing out of them

It depends on if you like early potatoes or "regular" potatoes. I like early potatoes best so I dig them up mid August (3+ month). They may be small but really tasty. If you want bigger potatoes, you dig them up at the end of September, early October (4-5 month).

The lesser eyes on a potatoe the bigger they will grow. I usually don't cut them as I want many small and tasty ones...

Make sure you got enough mould over the potatoes you grow so the sun doesn't get to them. If they green on one side when you dig them up they have been exposed to sun.
Green potatoes taste bitter and is a little toxic as well, so I wouldn't recommend eating that...

Mine too...and it looks like we have a ton of tomatoes as well

Mhh rhubarbs

I don't think I have ever eaten rhubarb. What would you guys compare it to?

Quite sour taste. If you have tasted really sour apples you might get an idea. At this time of year, when the ruhbarbs is a little less sour, I use it instead of apples in my apple pie. Serving that rhubarb pie along with some vanilla ice is really tasty...I can recommend that!

I know what that are . Actually it's quite common that seeds from these plants is in bags with sunflower seeds. Don't know why...but it happens. I had to remove one that was growing along with my sunflowers couple of years ago...

Wish I'd find some of "those" seeds in my sunflower seeds.

ughhhhhh I planted some rose bushed and just as the roses are beginning to bud, these fucking little bugs are eating them!!!!!

Sevin kills any bugs

When I hear the word Sevin, I always think of the Union Carbide disaster back in 1984 that happened in Bhopal, India. If I remember correctly all kind of pesticide from that company isn't allowed here in Norway anymore.

Hey Vogg how do I know when to dig up the potatoes? The vines are all dying now. I don't know if they are ready though.

The last year crop was basically ruined by a very wet and cold summer. The potatoes survived, but apart from that just a few really sour tomatoes

No potatoes this year, but trying to get some nice tomatoes, cucumbers and chilli this time...

Sounds nice. From what i've heard and seen no of them have a hard time growing.

I've picked some wild nettles last evening and made nettle soup today. Suprisingly good a must say.

It's season for rhubarb now, so I guess it's time for some rhubarb pie soon...

Yummy , ofcourse. I absolutely adore rhubarb pie. No summer without it.
