Well, King Diamond is pretty cool stuff for solo work. Formed in 1985, in Denmark. They're in Texas now, though. I'd have to say Abigail and The Eye are my favorite albums.

I don't only enjoy King Diamond but I also enjoy Mercyful Fate.

Any fans?

Although I only have two albums I am definitely a fan of King Diamond. Shrine, Halloween are my favorite King Diamond songs from Abigail and Fatal Portrait albums respectively

Wow Mercyful Fate's "Melissa" and "Don't Break the Oath" are amazing classics : D Also "Them" and Abigail from Kings solo! Can't believe such a genius is danish xD

I'd be nowhere right now if It wasn't for King Diamond/Mercyful Fate. MF was my introduction to extreme metal; I enjoy everything that both bands have done but old MF is king to all. "Don't Break the Oath" and "Fatal Portrait" are probably my top albums.

Graveyard is truly an underrated album, not the best compositions but the athmosphere is just sick, like usually King has it.

out of curiosity, what is the general consensus on Lucy during the course of the Graveyard album; Does she die when she's buried ?

I never really got the impression that she died; if she does die during the story, the last few tracks don't really make any sense to me. I might be reading them too literally though.

Actually Them was King's third solo album, not with Mercyful Fate.

I find The Spider's Lullabye as one of his best as well....strange that no one else have mentioned that album in the thread. scratch
