Irish thrashers GAMA BOMB decided to break the mold in 2009 when they released their brand new album, "Tales From The Grave In Space", online as a free download. Following many requests from fans for a physical release, "Tales From The Grave In Space" will be available on CD and vinyl from January 28.
"Tales From The Grave In Space" will be released on limited-edition vinyl in black (only 700 made) and ultra-limited edition green (only 300 made), as well as on CD. The limited edition CD version of the album also comes with an exclusive bonus EP, titled "Half Cut", which includes five brand new, extra tracks.
GAMA BOMB frontman Philly Byrne comments: "When we released 'Tales From The Grave In Space' as a free download last year, one of the most common responses from our fans was, 'When can I get this album on CD?' Which was both surprising and reassuring.
"We're giving our fans what we'd ideally like from a band we love; banging thrash you can either listen to for free or own as a high-quality physical package if you prefer something for your shelf.
"We worked hard, very hard, on the tracks which make up 'Half Cut'. When we spent days recording 'Tales...' in the studio, we were working on 'Half Cut' in the kitchen of our cottage at night. We recorded on weekends and at home long after recording had finished. These are the freshest songs we've written, but they're quite different from the songs on 'Tales...' — they're a bit meaner, a bit more evil.
"We're lucky we had the talent of Rory McGuigan to design the album sleeve. He's made something that looks better to us than any thrash album ever made. This is exactly the kind of CD we were always meant to have, and we hope our fans agree.
"People asked us, 'Where's the CD?' and we're happy we can finally say 'Here it is, go crazy'."

Finally a modern thrash metal band that sounds like their music is written and recorded in 1987. I like 'em , even tho thrash metal isn't the genre that I'm listening most to these days. The song Polterghost is hilarious awesome
