I'm not really a fan of melodic death but out of the bands on that list, I voted for At The Gates.

Carcass' Heartwork deserves a mention is this thread too.

Hey, I don't want to piss anyone off but I think the majority of 'melodic' death metal blows.

Dismember's Massive Killing Capacity is better melodic death metal than anything from any of those bands. In my opinion, of course.

but i was never denying that at the gates has good instrumentals... just the vocalist sounds more hardcore then death metal...

I went with Amon Amarth from that list. Not too big into melo. death metal. Amon Amarth really rox!

It was a pretty tough choice since Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum and Amon Amarth is high on my list. Actually being pretty much into melodeath I think quite a few of the bands on that list rocks Mors Principium Est would be a real competitor but since they weren't included my vote went to Dark Tranquillity. Mainly cus they have stuck with me for so long, and was actually the band that got me into melodeath from the beginning
