| Couldn't believe there was no thread with this legend.
Legendary rock n roll pioneer Roger Kynard "Roky" Erickson hails from Austin, Texas
s singer, songwriter, and guitar player for the legendary Austin, TX
band The 13th Floor Elevators, the first rock and roll band to describe
their music as "psychedelic", Roky had a profound impact on the San
Francisco scene when the group traveled there in 1966. He later foudn his luck again with forming Roky & the aliens as weel as his solo career with some big hits that for example Entombed made a cover of his Night of the Vampire, he has been a big infuense to many metal bands to come. He keept on making music even though his mental illness, he got some jail time and have many times been into mental hopspitals.
He is an legend, his solo work is truly amazing the same with the aliens. | |
