While they are one of my fav dm acts, it is true, that they indeed tend to recycle or reuse the same or very similar riffs. But they're too unique for me to not still love em.

They're kind've like the AC/DC of Death Metal, with the repetative riffs etc, and for that I love 'em!

Same, and yeah they have some real killer albums, but they aren't my favourite.

They stated last year they had no plans on working on a new album, doesn't mean they won't just not in the foreseeable future.
Quote :
We've spent the last year trying to write songs for a new album, planning to go into the studio this summer, unfortunately, after a lot of thought, we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the recording indefinitely. We know everybody says that their new album is better than their last, but with us we really believed that. From day one we made it clear that we'd stop recording when we felt we'd written the ultimate Bolt Thrower album, we just never knew when that would be, we kind of took for granted that each release would get better and better. But we have realised now that our last release, "Those Once Loyal" turned out to be that album, and basically the new stuff we have written just doesn't match up to it. We have a lot of pride in our back catalogue, and we refuse to turn into one of the many bands (like the ones we grew up listening to) who end up releasing crap, and we're also not prepared to compromise by instead releasing an album of cover versions or a 'best of' album. Sorry to disappoint those of you looking forward to hearing new BT songs, but we always said that we would never release anything we weren't happy with or that, in our view, didn't at least match up to our previous work.

Changed opoinion a bit on this band, Those once Loyal is an great record. But i din't enjoy relm of chaos that much , to much grind influence.
Any recommendation of albums like Those once loyal?

This band is fucking amazing and heavy. Their lyrical themes about war are just really killer and tubular. They are fucking great and the words go very well with the music. For anyone new to Bolt Thrower, I say go for any other album they have. Even their first one. Their first one is more like grind/death... same with their second one. Their first real solid death metal was War Master. That one is quite a fucking heavy death metal album. Check out the songs Cenotaph, Profane Creation and War Master. War Master is a must have Bolt Thrower album!

To Thorns: Yep, I'd go with DMG. Listen to the "Warmaster" Album and anything else from then on. But "...For Victory" is fucking killer, so listen to that too

Bolt THrower is a very interesting band. It was really cool that I was researching The Fourth Crusade (the actual event, not the album) and I came across their fourth album, The IVth Crusade. I had known about them and heard their music beforehand, but I thought it was awesome that they have an album with focus on the Fourth Crusade. I would like to get Bolt Thrower's albums, especially the one that I just mentioned.

Saw 'em live on Saturday, absolutely brilliant live. I will admit I'm not a massive Bolt Thrower fan overall, but will delve back into their older stuff from time to time. Lets see if this clip works, I videoed a few songs, but this is the only one that turned out okay:
