Mercy

Heavy/Doom-Metal band from Sweden. The first two full-length releases featured Messiah Marcolin on vocals. Looking for a heavier direction, Messiah decided to leave the band and joined Candlemass.

Mercy are best known for being the band that Messiah Marcolin fronted before he joined Candlemass. It seems they are often dismissed or mentioned in passing instead of being acknowledged as a strong band with their own vision. And as usual Andrija Veljaca (Witchking) kept the band alive. Untill he died in August 25th 2005, meaning Mercy is now defunct.

Listening to Mercy's self titled right now, and it's great. I like Messiah's vocals.

Witchburner from 1985 is a really good album. The band sounds like the bastard son of Witchfinder General and Candlemass.

I have Witchburner their 2nd album with Messiah and I also just picked up King Doom their third release featuring Rick Wine on vocals.

Both of these albums excellent old school Doom Metal.

I need to grab their S/T first release.

I'm thinkimg of moving this to Doom...IMO they are much more Doomy than Power...

Bump for this great band. I have the three first albums on the blog as well with the first demo "swedish metal".

"Witchburner" and "King Doom" should be in every doom fans collection. "Mercy" is also a really good album with a more mix of old school doom and heavy metal.

I think my mp3 copy of Witchburner got lost in a hard drive crash some time ago. I don't find it in my vault. Lucky for me Thorns got it up on his clog

That sucks... yeah it can always come in handy to have some albums uploaded.
