Camel is Progressiv Rock group
from London, England, formed in 1964. When brothers Andrew and Ian Latimer got together with their respective friends Alan Butcher and Richard Over to form THE PHANTOM FOUR. The band's name changed to STRANGE BREW. The group performed mainly cover tunes until mid-1968 when Ian Latimer quit to get married. Andrew Latimer and Alan Butcher placed an ad in the Surrey Advertiser for a bass player to which Doug Ferguson responded.

Just checked their album Mirage , some real good stuff.

I've been meaning to check out more of their stuff since I love the Canterbury prog scene. All I've got is Rain Dances, though I really enjoy it.

Mirage and Moonmadness are simply amazing albums. I'll have to pick up Music Inspired By The Snow Goose soon.

Moonmadness is fantastic. Rain Dances, Mirage and s/t are great too! Other than that I find them a bit hit-or-miss.

Andy Latimer hasn't been well for a while and I've heard nothing to suggest he's getting better or worse...
