Akercocke

Akercocke are an English progressive death metal band with black metal influence. There are different vocals all performed by the lead vocalist, Jason Mendonca. Deep growl, shriek, a bit aggressive clean vocals and then speech and soft clean vocals, sometimes as soft as pop-music, which you can hear on their latest release "Antichrist" from 2007. That's quite a progressive album, pop rock and electronica are included on that album. Not that much though. But it's really an interesting band.

I can recommend the albums "Choronzon", "Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone" and then "Antichrist". I have not really heard the first to albums named "The Goat of Mendes" and "Rape of the Bastard Nazarene", so I wont say anything about them. First three I mentioned should be the most interesting also.

Really, this is a great band! If you want to try anything new, try these guys!

I've been listening to more and more of this band in the past few days. They really are savage.

This blackened death metal band are progressive and excellent. I love the albums Words That Go Unspoken and Antichrist. I want to get the other Akercocke albums out there.

Evilness is about the only way to decribe them.

Love everything they've done but Anti-christ is definately a peak. Just an amazing album.

Antichrist rules, it is such an amazing album. Epode, the lightest song on there is one of my favorites. That one is totally incredible. Antichrist got many spins when I had my old account on Last.FM. I want to listen to it more and more. I also want to get the rest of Akercocke's albums. I only have their last two.

Antichrist is a masterpiece, I love it.

I have Choronzon now and listening to it. Wow, this is an awesome slab of progressive death metal. I noticed that Words that Go Unspoken began where they left off on Choronzon.

Listening to Antichrist now. This band is climbing the ladder as one of my favorites.

I have listened to Words That Go Unspoken and Antichrist so far, and they are very decent, definitely something a little different.

Is the older stuff a bit harder?
