From the ashes of Thorr's Hammer comes Khlyst, a drone doom group, which released their only full-length album, Chaos is my name on Hydra Head Records. The project consists of James Plotkin (ex-Khanate and a shitload of other projects), Runhild Gammelsæter (ex-Thorr's Hammer) and Tim Wyskida (ex-Khanate). Back in 2006 they released the album in relative secrecy and it never caught the eye of the public. In 2008 Hydra Head released a limited DVD of a Khlyst live performance in New York (the DVD is limited to 500 pieces world wide).
The music itself is in the vein of Khanate and I found it really difficult to grasp the unique atmospheres of the album at first. A very straining project to get into, but if you look for harsh feelings displayed in chaotic "musical form" I can only recommend Khlyst warmly.

Yeah, I've heard of them..I'm not into Drone that much though....
