Vortex (NL)

Vortex is a heavy metal band from Groningen, Netherlands. They became known in the 80's when they released the highly acclaimed EP Metal Bats (1985) and the full-length Open the Gate (1986).
The band split-up in the late 80's but reformed in 1998 and have been active since. They have released three albums after the reunion.



The band plays NWOBHM inspired metal. The lyrics contains a mix of anti-religious and horror themes.
I can recommend the EP and full-length form the 80's, which is really good. I haven't got around their newer releases so far, but I have read some nice reviews for them. Especially Hammer Of the North seem to be a good choice.
