| How could nobody make a thread about these guys?!?! Well, I feel they don't need an introduction, other than the fact that they're one of the Big 4 of Thrash. Post yer thoughts. | |

| I never liked Joey Belladonna's voice, even though I think State Of Euphoria is quite good. Sound Of White Noise is my favorite by them. The album also contain what I consider as their best song to date, Black Lodge. | |

I don't mind some stuff, but S.O.D's better. Overrated? Everytime I hear about the Big 4, it's usually Metallica, Slayer or Megadeth. I don't hear Anthrax's name as often as the other three bands. Also, "Persistence of Time" and "Sound of White Noise" are fantastic albums. | |

| They're not overrated at all, they are one of the big four. And out of the big four they are very much underrated | |

| I've listened too them casually but never been into them much. Can't hardly name anything by them or anything. I know they've got some ok stuff, but aswell they're got stuff I didn't like. Not going to lie, they're the last one I thing of when it comes to the big four. I think because Slayer is my favorite and the other two are so widely talked about you somewhat overlook Anthrax. |

| "The Four" is a retarded concept made up by 90's keen hipster dumb-fucks who collectively decided to marginalize their taste by claiming the four most popular "thrash" bands HAD to be the best. There is no definitive "thrash four", and if there was, Anthrax would NOT be one of'em (Anthrax wouldn't be alone in their exclusion either). - GodlessEndeavor wrote:

| ^Odd that you'd make that "point" in a topic wherein I've stuck to the theme and explained my reason(s) for saying what I said. I don't know what your on about, but SO seems to have forgotten how to count. |

| No, actually SO hasn't forgotten how to count....I understand perfectly what he is saying...You on the other hand don't.... He's stating that your silly statement of Anthrax being overrated holds no water simply because when it comes to the big 4 (I know, that was invented by 90's keen hipster whatever the fuck you said) Anthrax is the least mentioned or gets the least attention of Slayer, Metallica snd Megadeth...So, how could a band that gets the least attention be overrated? | |

Let me set you on the right course here. SO said (and I quote): " Everytime I hear about the Big 4, it's usually Metallica, Slayer or Megadeth." He hears about the big Four, yet usually Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth are the only bands mentioned (in whatever conversation he's having). That doesn't sound like very good maths if you ask me, by hearing about the "Big Four" (which includes Anthrax), any praise or discrimination is automatically objective since all the bands have been (foolishly) lumped in together. I'm not take'n the piss outta him, I just thought the way he worded it was funny. - Heat wrote:

The fact that Anthrax is considered one of the "Big Four" in the first place shows how criminally overrated they are. A band of their caliber just plain shouldn't be given so much praise, and to rank them as one of the four best thrash bands of the 80's is a ridiculous injustice to the bands with real (superior) talent. They'r a medicore band who were regularly associated with Metallica, and I suspect that's the reason why they were dubbed as one of the "Big Four". Again, it's a shame, and whats worse is they climbed and used their fame ladder to make that awful rap song with Public Enemy. You can quit your head scratching... |

| I used to have most of their old albums, but sold them all except State Of Euphoria. Of the so called big 4 I think Anthrax is the best one by far. They at least should be credited for their original sound. |

| Noo Yawk thrash metal! Yeah, I love Anthrax's first album a lot. Fistful of Metal is officially my favorite 'thrax album from now on. It was Among the Living or Spreading the Disease. Now it's Fistful of Metal, mainly because I love the vocals and guitar. Neil Turbin was a great vocalist. XD |

| The name alone gets a lot of people attracted. You know what anthrax is? Well yeah look it up if you don't and it's pretty much gotten a lot of people's attention over by the name. They put out some good thrashing albums over the years. What made them really famous (oh noes, I don't like this by 'em) was their collaboration with Public Enemy (the song was Bring the Noize) and their EP I'm the Man. They popularized metal and rap fused together. Ugh... bad idea. Aside from that, Anthrax has put out cool stuff. I even like We've Come For You All, which is just a modern rock/metal album. |

| Man I have heard my share of Anthrax, they certainly don't do anything for me at all, I just am interested as to why everyone else likes them. |

| Could be, I think personally Anthrax are a band for newbies to the metal scene. Once you start exploring the wonders of the Metal genre you quickly realise Anthrax are an average Thrash band and Morbid Saint kick their arse. |
