Since there was no Down thread, I thought I'd make one. This is one of my all time favorite groups, up there with Acid Bath, Electric Wizard, Bongzilla, and EyeHateGod. They play a blend of Southern/Sludge/Stoner Metal. With nothing but members from bands like Crowbar, EyeHateGod, C.O.C, and Pantera, you know you're going to get some kick ass jams. They have three releases, their first being "NOLA", then "A Bustle In Your Hedgerow", and their latest "Over The Under". All of which have a slightly different feel, "Over the Under" and "A Bustle In Your Hedgerow have much more of a Sludge feel than "NOLA" but all three are excellent listens. If you've never heard of these guys, check 'em out.

I fucking love Down, I got NOLA years ago, long before the "Its cool to love Down" phenomenon began. NOLA to this day is still my favourite Down album and Bury Me In Smoke is the best song off the album.

"NOLA" is a classic album, lots and lots of good jams. But their other two albums come in right behind it. Anyone else seen these guys live?

DOWN frontman Philip Anselmo has confirmed to U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine that the group is currently working on a new album for a summer release. In addition, he has been working with "a shitload of bands" for his Housecore record label, including RED RIVER REVIVAL, EVIL ARMY, haarp (all lower case) and WARBEAST.

I fucking love Down, easily one of my favorite bands. I've seen 'em live twice now, once in 2002 and a little over a year ago. I found this the other day, looks like a dvd/cd combo coming out in March. For some reason though, there is nothing to click on in this link to pre-order.

I really like Down. First time I saw them, though, Phil was so drunk he fell off the stage, which was just sad. I didn't enjoy it very much. Second time, however, they kicked all kinds of ass and didn't spend ten minutes between songs talking shit.
