The Gates of Slumber

The Gates of Slumber are a sickkk Trad. Doom Metal band from the US. Formed in 1998, they've got 3 Full Lengths all of witch are great. My favorite by this band is 'Conqueror' which just came out last year.

i've been saying for that past month that i'm going to listen to this band but i haven't yet. i think today is the day.

I came across this band last week and I bought their last album "Conqueror" rather blindly. And what can I say? I had not been disappointed at all! The songs are amazingly epic and the singer comes up with different riffs and solos which are absolutely awesome. The songs are all quiet long and the tempo rises mainly just at the end, so the album needs a lot of endurance if you are not totally into doom. But there are also some fast uptempo bangers as "Children Of Satan". Just check out the songs on youtube, I can only recommend them strongly.

Another one for the endless list.

I grabbed two of their albums yesterday The Awakening and Conqueror. Awesome, totally my style.

Holy shit, this band is incredibel, I don;t know how I missed them.

At the moment, I listen to "To Kill and Be King". The riff at the end is one the best I`ve ever heard, simply mindblowing :O

Listened to their myspace, I'd heard and enjoyed "trapped in a web" before. Really good stuff.

Yes, this band are truely amazing. Some of the best newer trad. stuff out there. Hopefully they continue to make awesome albums.

I finally got the Awakening a couple nights ago, fucking great band. I'll be getting more as soon as possible. Didn't realize what I was missing out on.

Children of Satan is a realy good song

Children Of Satain is imo the best song on "Conqueror". The riff and the chorus are awesome. I`m currently listening to "Suffer No Guilt" a lot and I have to say that it is also a brilliant record.

The new Gates Of Slumber record will be called "Hymns of Blood and Thunder" (great title) and wil be out in North America on September 15th (14th in Europe).

Conqueror is an nice album.

Just finished listening to the new album. Best song is probably Descent Into Madness. Not sure what I think of the album as a whole yet though.

Conqueror is a great fucking album. The new one is ok, but doesnt come close to the previous.

I had the pleasure of seeing this band in concert last month (August 14). I wanted to talk with the musicians, because some of the guys were wearing awesome shirts, but for some stupid reason I didn't. They performed a great concert, however. Five other bands played there as well. I consider myself a fan of this band.
