I sadly have to admit that I was highly dissapointed in the new record. They could not archive the great feeling of The Call Of The Wretched Sea (for which I still respect and love the band). The Divinity Of Oceans is monotonous, repetive and feels empty.

So far I've only listened to the first songs of "the call of the wretched sea" but I can easily say that it has impressed me alot so far. Will tune in again as soon as I've listened to the rest of the album and the new one.

Loved the first AHAB cd. And the Divinity of Oceans is brilliant, too. Something else entirely but still such beautiful melodies...

As far as "funeral doom" goes, I think this is the first band of the genre I really could enjoy without falling asleep. Twisted Evil

(and I am, generally speaking, a DOOM fanatic!)

I've found them kind of hard to get into. It might take me a while to get into really liking them, I had that problem with quite a few bands.
