Paradise Lost

Paradise Lost are a pretty cool Death/Doom/Gothic Metal band. They're from the UK formed in 88'. They're still active. The earlier three albums were easily the best. 'Lost Paradise', 'Gothic', 'Shades of God'. I suggest those albums.

Never thought of these guys as doom, but then I haven't really listened much to their older stuff. They are rather ok

They're early stuff was sorda Death/Doom. Then the late stuff was sorda gothic metal. Then again it's all got gothic vide too me. Normally though, gothic goes into the doom section (or does on another forum I post in) so I posted it here.

Ok, I've mostly heard the gothic part of them but never mind the section it's in it just got me curious

I like their first two releases and Draconian Times a bit, but it's only good, while Gothic was brilliant.

Paradise Lost is one of the best bands. Only the first album is ok, but not great. The rest of the albums are good to brilliant. I even really like their heavily critized album Host.

The first album was the most brilliant, to be honest with you. Gothic is brilliant comparing to everything else.

Do you have or even seen their DVD Live Death with an old concert for their first album?

Just wondering. It is strange to see them so young and still playing this kind of music.

Started listening to them today. OMG. THEY FUCKIN OWN!

Not a bad band but not among my favorites.

I've always had a soft spot for Paradise Lost, though I don't think they ever had a "complete" album without filler for me. Icon, and Gothic are my favourites.

Lost Paradise is worth a spin too.

Live they were awful though, I saw them in the early-90's touring as the Painless in Bradford, and supporting Sepultura in Nottingham, and they sucked badly due to the fact that Nick really can't sing, and it becomes so apparent in a live situation.

Another band that I need to listen more to....Draconian Times is my fave by them...but it may change as I only listened to three of their albums so far....

Yeah me too. They have a bunch of good albums.

This is one of those bands I need to listen to more.
