| Pagan Altar are said to be one of the pioneers of the genre. They're one of the few first bands to play NWOBHM and then Doom Metal. Formed in 78' in England they're badass. They're still active and the latest album 'Mythical & Magical' is my favorite. Such a perfect mix of music. They've only had 3 full lenghts but those 3 are all VERY SICK.
Anyone a fan? |

| Anyone a fan? HELL YEAH. Three perfect albums, Alan Jones is the man and Terry has the nose. If we'd have more bands like this nowadays, the world would be a much better place. |

| Yeah, one of the few bands, which got me into Doom Metal and the only band, where I like the mixture with NWOBHM! |

Changed my life. Its sick these dudes come back from retirement with guns blazing. I was hesitant to hear the new material but it slays, straight up. More of a folk influence now, rather than the NWOBHM. Still better than dozens of bands. | |

| Checked out their Volume 1 album after reading all the nice reviews of the album...and...yeah it was quite good to be "unreleased" stuff. At the same time I can't quite understand the hype. I guess over the years the myth about the band grew bigger than the music itself. Still, they belong among the best NWOBHM bands. | |
